Questions
Is an electronic signature legally binding?
Usually, yes. In the US, the ESIGN Act and UETA treat it like a handwritten signature for most business agreements — as long as the signer agreed to sign electronically and you can show who signed and when. Every document we finish carries a certificate proving both. We aren’t lawyers, though: a few things, like wills and some court filings, still need pen and paper.
What does the person I send it to see?
An email from you with a link. They open it in any browser — no account, no app — read the document, and sign where you put the fields. That’s it. Or skip our email and send them the link yourself.
What happens once everyone has signed?
Everyone gets the signed PDF, you included. Bound into it is a certificate: who signed, when, from what IP address and browser, and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the original document. Until then, your dashboard shows who’s signed and who hasn’t.
Is it free? How do you make money?
Everything that runs in your browser is free and unlimited — no daily cap, no watermarks. Signatures are free too, up to five a month. You pay only if you need more of those, bigger files, or links that never expire. Most people never do.
Do I need an account?
No. Every tool works without one and always will. An account only matters if you send documents out for signature — it keeps track of what you’ve sent. The people signing never need one.
How is my privacy protected?
Almost everything — editing, signing, OCR, redaction, compression — runs in your browser and never uploads your file. Three things need a server: converting Office documents, creating a share link, and sending for signature. Converted files are discarded straight away. Shared and signed documents sit behind an unguessable link and are deleted when you delete them, or when the link expires.
